The double standards and pretense of the United States (U.S) government to de-escalate the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, spreading to the Middle-East region has been rebuked by Leaders and Academicians worldwide
The U.S Secretary of State Antony Blinken made an announcement on the 75th Anniversary of the Geneva Conventions on Monday.
Within a matter of few hours after its statement issued on its steadfast commitment on respecting International Law, Blinken approved $20 Billion arms sales to Israel on Tuesday.
As per Pentagon, F-15 jets along with equipment worth $19 Billion, tank parts worth $774 Million, mortar cartridges worth $60 Million and army tanks worth $583 Million will be sold to Israel.
Palestinian affairs analyst Mouin Rabbani while appearing on a news program organised by Al Jazeera on Wednesday condemned the U.S.
Rabbani said “We had the absolutely bizarre spectacle of Antony Blinken lauding the Geneva Conventions on the commemoration of their 75th anniversary, reaffirming the U.S commitment to those conventions, then signing off on a $20 Billion arms deal to genocidal regime..”
Prior to this huge deal finalised with Israel, the U.S in March concluded $2.5 Billion weapons package comprising lethal bombs and fighter jets.
Human Rights organizations from all across the world have been criticising the U.S for facilitating a genocide in Gaza. Tweets posted by Blinken on the U.S commitment to comply with the provisions of International Law are construed as a nefarious design to escape from any accountability.
Recently, Blinken refused to answer on a pertinent question asked by an independent newsroom The Grayzone. The question was simply put as “If Geneva Conventions applies to Gaza ?.”
The U.S has been time and again also criticized for dodging the question asked by journalists and human rights organisations on its accountability in facilitating genocide towards civilians including children in Gaza.
A standard response given by the U.S says “Israel has a right and obligation to defend itself.”
Why is the U.S complicit with Israel in Defying International Law and International Humanitarian Law ?
The United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese has categorically made it very clear as in why Israel cannot invoke the right to self-defence.
“Israel cannot claim the right to self-defence under International Law because Gaza is a territory which it occupies from a territory that is kept under belligerent occupation.
Israel is not threatened by another state. Instead, it has been threatened by an armed group within the occupied territory.”
The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has time and again said “Brutality perpetrated by Hamas can never justify the collective punishment of the Palestinian people.”
Average Tax Payer unwillingly paid over $5000 towards Genocide in Gaza and Military Destabilization abroad in 2023
The U.S government has been accused for exorbitantly spending the U.S taxpayers money.
A report released by the National Priorities Project at the Institute for Policy Studies revealed that the average taxpayers contributed $5000 towards income tax to fund such military projects.
As an aftermath of causing economic, environment and political instability across the world, in particular in Middle-East, such a huge expenditure exacerbated deprivation of food, shelter and emergencies in the U.S.
Majority of Americans have disapproved Israel’s genocidal acts, the U.S support towards Israeli forces and the use of taxpayers money for Israel’s military assistance.
Gaza’s Health Ministry says "So far, over 40,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks, with many more buried under rubble and threatened by illness."
